Fort Worth combines early-1900s neighborhoods like Fairmount, Ryan Place and Arlington Heights with huge new growth in north Fort Worth along I-35W and out west toward Walsh Ranch. The older homes often have pier-and-beam foundations, original wood siding and windows, and limited electrical. The newer ones need patios, fences and finish upgrades.
Permits
The City of Fort Worth Development Services department issues residential permits. Historic districts have design guidelines for exterior changes. North Fort Worth has many HOA communities with their own architectural rules.
