Use these ranges to plan and to spot outlier bids. They're estimates for typical North Texas homes, not quotes. After a major hail event, roofing and siding prices and schedules can shift for months, so get several bids and compare scope line by line.

What moves DFW prices
- Storm season demand: spring hail (roughly March–June) creates surges in roofing, siding, gutter and window work.
- Roof complexity: many DFW two-stories have steep, cut-up roofs with lots of valleys, which takes more labor than a simple gable.
- Foundation type: pier-and-beam homes are repaired differently, and often more cheaply per point of adjustment, than slab homes. Engineered pier plans cost more but come with a report.
- Historic and conservation districts in Dallas and Fort Worth may require specific window, siding and roofing materials.
- HOAs in Frisco, McKinney, Prosper and other newer suburbs often regulate fence height and material, roof color and exterior paint.
Frequently asked questions
Do Class 4 shingles cost much more?
Usually somewhat more than standard architectural shingles. Many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for UL 2218 Class 4 impact-resistant roofs. Ask your agent for the actual discount before deciding.
